The Kibo GTX field sports boot has an insulated lining, which helps provide warmth even in low temperatures (down to -30) but it’s really all about the sole with this incredibly robust and durable boot. Extreme terrains can be tackled with confidence thanks to Meindl’s Multi-Grip Rock sole – the outside of the sole features abrasion-resistant, sharp-edged rubber with integrated moveable blades, whilst the inner section of the sole features a unique compound of soft rubber and felt. The sole profile across the arch is designed to provide further stability, you’re sure to be confident in Kibo’s performance even on the most challenging days in the field. Hand-crafted in suede, the boots have a high, protective rubber rand all the way around and a built up ankle that provides great support but has a compression zone to help with natural and easy movement. An Air-Active winter footbed and a GORE-TEX lining create a breathable, dry, and comfortable foot climate.

Meindl for Mountain – Grade B/C
These boots are handmade from high quality leather. They are heavier and have a more robust upper and sole unit than a B grade boot. They are suitable for occasional crampon use. Grade B/C boots are ideal for multi-day trips, demanding trekking, extended hikes in the high mountains, poor mountain paths, scree and fixed rope routes. We would recommend a grade B/C boot for winter walking in Scotland and more demanding European walking in the summer.
